Rebuilding Together San Antonio is dedicated to keeping people in need, seniors, and those with disabilities with special emphasis on military veterans and their families, living in warmth, safety, independence and decency through home repair and rehabilitation using volunteer and contracted services.

Facts About Rebuilding Together San Antonio
Rebuilding Together San Antonio is a non-profit dedicated to the repair and rehabilitation
of homes of people in need, seniors, and those with disabilities.
We give special consideration to military veterans and their families.
The goal of Rebuilding Together San Antonio is to help ensure that our neighbors in need, seniors, and those with disabilities continue to live in a warm and safe atmosphere.
Rebuilding Together San Antonio does general repairs for the homeowners so that they
can continue to live in a safe and secure environment.
Anyone sixteen and older can be a Rebuilding Together San Antonio volunteer.
Rebuilding Together San Antonio is paid for by in-kind and financial donations from local businesses,
foundations, corporations, associations, and the City of San Antonio.
Rebuilding Together San Antonio has rehabilitated over 475 homes with over
13,500 volunteers donating over 44,000 hours of service.
Rebuilding Together San Antonio has completed over two and a half million dollars
worth of renovations since the start of the program in 1994.
On our annual workdays, numerous homes are repaired as well as community centers and
non-profit facilities in San Antonio with 400 volunteers donating their time and talents.
Rebuilding Together San Antonio is currently developing a year-round
minor repair program and our Heroes at Home Program for veterans.
Rebuilding Together is the nation’s largest volunteer organization preserving
and revitalizing low-income houses and communities.
Who Volunteers
Anyone over the age of sixteen can volunteer!
Business executives, students, secretaries, doctors, lawyers, real estate professionals, police
officers, homemakers, politicians, bankers, and journalists all pitch in to help
build a better community! Skilled tradespeople are always in demand.
We draw thousands of carpenters, plumbers, electricians,
roofers, and people with other skills
donating their time each year.
What We Do
One day each year, we gather volunteers from all walks of life, ages and ethnic backgrounds to join forces.
Armed withtruckloads of materials these volunteers paint, repair and renovate homes and shelters.
The goal of Rebuilding Together San Antonio is to encourage volunteering at the local level and
to stimulate increased local activity to aid the low-income, elderly and
disabled homeowner. Since 1994 over 475 homes have received free home repairs
with the help of almost 13,500 community volunteers.
Who We Help
Low-income, disabled or elderly people who cannot maintain their homes are eligible for our services.
Additionally, community shelters are also eligible. All work is performed free of charge.
The homeowners, if they are able, work with volunteers in the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor.
There are five million elderly, low-income homeowners in America.
The majority are women and more than one-third live alone.
Some spend over 40% of their income on housing expenditures, 22% are defined as “housing poor”.
